SANdbLAST AT SOUTHWICK
Paul Buckley is one of the great photographers in MX. He is still out there today capturing the moment, but some of my favorites are his black and white images of the 80’s. His infamous “JoJo scrub” shot is an example of his instinct for being in the right place at the right time. This picture he took of me through “Buckley Berm” at Southwick reminds me of how tough that place was. Besides the strength it took to go fast there and the heat and humidity, there was the roost! I never won at Southwick, but it kept me in check and I liked it.
