1985 MX Des Nations JT ALS-1 open face. I friend of mine from Virginia surprised me with a visit and this helmet he has had for the last 21 years. The inside is starting the shed, but the outside is timeless. My ride in Germany wearing this helmet started out great as I pulled the holeshot under the new MX Des Nations format that had 63 riders in the the race! England's newly crowned 500cc world champ Dave Thorpe eventually passed me and took home the individual honors, but team USA consisting of Ron Lechien, Jeff Ward and I brought home the gold again.

This helmet will be another one of the unique items auctioned at Pole Position Monday night after Glen Helen. I got message from Johnny O'Mara saying he has his 1986 MX Des Nations helmet and would like to auction it. Yes, the one the wore when he beat the world on their 500's in Italy!

Victor Sheldon also has a carbon fiber Chad Reed SX helmet signed by Chad and other THOR riders such as McGrath.
