Before I go any further I want to point out that I mixed up the dates for my dad’s MX school coming up out at Cahuilla Creek MX park. It will be held this month on the 12th and 13th. Call now to secure a spot. Who knows, I might even show up and help out for a little while – although I’m pretty sure the “Professor” can handle it all by himself. Give Donna a ring for more information at 276 650-1759.

Also be sure and check out DMXS radio tonight! Last I heard the real #259 Tony Haynes will be on board along with some of his music. If Tony can give James Stewart advice on how to ride even better I think we all need to listen, and listen close! I would love to hang out with him and compare notes on riding techniques, racing strategy and the state of MX. James will also be on to talk about…heck I don’t know what he is going to talk about, but I’m sure it will be entertaining. Finally I will weigh in on the US Open and whatever else surfaces.

The photos are from Italy in 1986. This was a unique event held over three days in Bologna, which incorporated SX and a Supermoto event. There were some big names that year such as Bob Hannah, Eddie Lawson, myself, Rick Johnson, Mickey Dymond, Guy Cooper, and some of the best Europeans at the time like Andre Malherbe and Eric Geboers. I was on a roll after being crowned King of Bercy the day before and won everything including my first superbike race. As it turned out that was my last race before I got hurt.

#9 on the top left is Guy Cooper
#14 is Jon Van Den Berk
#4 Mickey Dymond,
#37 I’m not sure who that is
#8 AJ Whiting
#2 Rick Johnson
That’s me on the right #3 throwing a SICK whip. lol
#4 My only Supermoto event and last race ever!
