I snapped this shot of Carmichael’s (show) 250 at the World Mini in Vegas last month. As it was being loaded up it occurred to me that I might never see it again! This bike served him well as he added more number one plates to Honda’s conference room. He even put together “The Perfect Season.” So take a good long look at his historic low rider because that’s what this bike is now – history. This year RC has made the switch and joined his chase pack on a 450 for his attempt at an 8th outdoor national title. He has all the ingredients to win it again, but each year it seems more impossible. I think that is what motivates him. There is no better feeling for an athlete than to do the impossible and prove once again that they are the best in the world! That is why people do the Ironman and climb Mt. Everest and that is why a record number of people will tune in to see if Lance Armstrong can do what no man has done before by winning his 6th Tour De France in a row! With goals that significant you just know they wake up every morning five minutes before the alarm clock goes off and get to work doing what ever it takes to make the impossible seem within reach.

I also get the feeling that James Stewart has toyed with the idea of a perfect season of his own, but Ryno and a host of new kids are there to spoil it.

Enjoy this summer of racing. I think it’s going to be the best ever.
