A GLIMPSE
I headed out to Glen Helen today so my son could practice on something new and gnarly in preparation for the Vegas World Mini next week. As I was parking I noticed Team Kawasaki was there testing and as I took a closer look, I saw a KX 250 with number 259 on it and I almost drove into the fence! Suzuki was also there testing and so was Ryan Hughes. Hangtown is right around the corner and all the players are getting their outdoor settings dialed.
As I headed down to watch Sean, Stewart, who had already dialed his in 125 headed out to break in his new 250. He looks really good on it and he was only messing around. Every once in a while he would absolutely pin it and give everyone there a glimpse of what’s coming in ‘05. I tried to snap a picture of him, but he came by me so fast all I got was this shot of the sky.
Ryan Hughes looked great also. Hamblin looked the best of the Suzuki guys and had some cool lines. Kyle Partridge was there too and although he was just cruising a lot of the time, he did pin it here and there and look really smooth. Another rider on his way to the pro ranks was Josh Grant who has been riding well lately. He was done when we got there, but I heard he looked really good. Mike Alessi will join both Grant and Partridge next week in Vegas and I am really looking forward to that.
It was exciting to watch everyone prep for the outdoor series today just like I have seen before, but then I remembered that Glen Helen isn’t until September! What threw me off were the dozers prepping the big hills for the 4-Stroke national next weekend. After what I saw today my money is on Hughes.
