HOUSTON THOUGHTS
I took this photo on the way home from one of the Anaheim’s. This is a huge building up on the hill visible from the 91 freeway – or maybe it should be called an expensive parking lot since I owe some dough for driving in the express lane in hopes of getting to where I’m going that same day! Anyway, it kind of fits doesn’t it. It seems like James Stewart will be a title producing entity while his career is in progress. Congratulations James on your first win in the east. I’m thinking it would be really cool if Steve Whitelock from the AMA served up a penalty on James for scratching that Tuf Blox cover that would force him to ride the entire series in 3rd gear!
I also want to congratulate Broc “Hamburger” Hepler for an awesome SX debut. The kid was injured and hoping for a top 10, but he ended up with a Butterfinger holeshot check, some laps led and a solid 2nd place! Nice job.
In the 250’s…Reed pretty much ruined any hopes Kevin might have had for the title. The AMA can give Kevin 10 more points…actually make that 20 points, but it isn’t gunna matter. Kevin is awesome, but Reed is too good!
2nd is up for grabs with Kevin, Larocco and Vuillemin. They can even win races with their speed and experience, but unless aliens abduct Chad, the title is his.
The Reliant Stadium in Houston is by far the nicest stadium I have ever seen. Besides being bigger than the Death Star, it’s design and attention to detail is incredible. Buy your tickets for the 2005 Houston SX as soon as you can. Next year’s main event will include Reed, Stewart, Carmichael, Windham, Vuillemin and Larocco! Mix in the rest of the field and the comfort of that stadium and you have the makings of a great vacation.

PS In those photos is a picture of Davi Milsaps’ bike just sitting there thanks to the AMA. Let’s pretend for a sec that Davi was in Stewart’s heat. He would’ve beaten him! Not in the main with all systems go for James, but he would’ve been a much closer second. If he turned 16 two weeks from now I would understand, but hours? Come on! After all the ridiculous stuff that the AMA has done, this one takes the cake. With a kid as talented as Milsaps, what do you think NASCAR would’ve done? Maybe they would've been too busy with a BILLION dollar plane flying over the stadium flanked by two more 40 million dollar planes after getting clearance for Air Force 1 to land so the President of the United States could say, "Gentleman, start your engines" as Ben Afleck climbed into the pace car. Yeah, they probably would've had Davi sit in the drivers section. Just a reminder, 15-year-old Marty Tripes won the first supercross EVER at the LA Coliseum, and I’ve heard quite a few times now that Travis Pastrana is actually older than he says. Things that make you go hmmmm.
Davi would’ve made this WEAK east coast SX series better and more exciting, but since we don’t have a REAL organization calling the shots with some consistency, we get all sorts of crap that makes for great mototalk discussion, none of which helps the sport.
