I friend of mine surprised me today when he showed up in our driveway in his Testarossa. That’s been my favorite car for years. After the Motocross Des Nations in Italy in 1986, Gabrielle from Alpinestars set up a tour for me and O’Mara through the Ferrari factory. I’ve been hooked ever since. For an old car, that thing still looks pretty damned good and sounds even better. Driving around on the back roads out near wine country today didn’t suck.

Near my house we spotted a car just like the one I used to have when I still lived in Virginia. It’s a M635 BMW. I never had all the toys, but I did buy one of those from Europe. After they converted it to US specs, I put all the illegal stuff back on and ran race gas in it. It cruised easily at 160mph, which isn’t quite as fast as the Testy, but still a lot of fun.

Last week while I was showing my friend from New England around in San Diego we came across this SR 71 Blackbird. Those are pretty fast.
